Lend a Helping Hand

The LAAH Program is designed to assist breast cancer patients, as well as patients with other women’s cancers and their families to cope up with major life challenges during treatment.


We provide assistance with daily needs such as, support groups, housekeeping, personal items, salon services, transportation to medical appointments and financial assistance. This program is offered to patients in treatment for breast cancer and other women’s cancers who reside within the township of Islip. It is our goal to provide support and relief for patients and their families have some relief from the daily pressures and help while recovering from surgery and/or undergoing treatment.

Can Survive Program

This program is designed to provide support and resources to breast cancer and other women’s cancer patients facing surgery.


The Patient is provided with a tote bag containing materials to prepare them and aid them during this stressful period.


Materials such as personal items, books, meditation tapes and various resource guides are included.


LAHH volunteer will provide a follow up phone call to allow the patient the opportunity to articulate their feelings, needs and concerns and to be a resource guide for them.

Support Group

Support Group meets once a month via Zoom. Our group allows the breast cancer client to express their feelings and concerns in a compassionate atmosphere and give them coping skills for their healing journey.
